CID RIM is a London based drummer, producer and composer. Born in Vienna, he and his highschool buddies, Dorian Concept & The Clonious, shared their love for jazz, hip hop and electronic music. They all started producing beats in their bedrooms and merged their musical talent in the band JSBL. I n 2010Cid Rim released his first split-solo EP together with The Clonious on local label Affine Records. His drum-heavy eclectic mix of funk & electronics, which never ceases to surprise, has since made him internationally known. His search for new input led him to writing rooms in LA, Paris, NY and London, where he found a new home with Lucky Me Records. In 2017 he released his debut Album Material followed by Songs of Vienna in November 2021. He has collaborated with Dorian Concept, Chvrches, Sky Ferreira, Klangkarussell, The Clonious & many more.

After being invited to curate a series of 7″ recordings at Vinylograph, I instantly thought of Cid Rim, since he is a great musician and we have been friends for many years. On many occasions I have seen him on stage – solo, with JSBL or the Dorian Concept Trio – and he has always delivered! His unforgettable solo shows with live drums have an unparalleled energy and uplifting vibe. He accepted my invitation as the first test recorder and on the 12th of April 2018 he recorded the song U.N.M. 1. single sided direct to vinyl.
